"Geek at Play" Composition

“Geek at play” is inspired by my passion to embrace and poke fun at my geeky nature.

Lately i’ve been spending a lot of time creating new content for Kurrent. “Geek at Play” is a poke at myself to spend a little time outside of my focus...

"Ixtlan" Illustration

“Ixtlan” was inspired by a book I read by Jamie Sams, “Dancing the Dream”, which reveals the seven sacred paths of human spiritual development and explains how exploring each path leads to shifts in our personal relationships with the earth, our loved ones, friends and communities, and most important our own spiritual selves.

For me, the lower part of the illustration depicting the carousel of bicycle riders represents the habitual thought pattern and loopy loop that resides inside every human. The ego, if you will, has many masks and guises that essentially lead to habitual and ego centric living. The waves represent my opinion that the ego centric human perpetuates a tsunami of suffering. The upper part of the illustration, represents the higher self inside all of us, facing his/her ego with calm and mindful non-action. The creature on the left is a mythical Indian (Hindu) symbol, “Makara”, which represents the fertility of love and desire.

"Swinging Through" Illustration

“Every time we choose safety, we reinforce fear.”

Cheri Huber

Inspired by the above quote and the relevance it plays in my own personal growth and being, “Swinging Though” plays with the idea of embracing life as an adventure, with all it’s seemingly scary twists and turns.

"Harmonic Resonance" Illustration

The inspiration for “Harmonic Resonance” sprang from a book I read, “The Holographic Universe” by Michael Talbot, where he discusses physicist David Bohm and Karl Pribram’s concept of the universe as a giant hologram containing both matter and consciousness as a single field of energy. I was inspired beyond words to explore some of these concepts by creating and playing in a mandala like construct containing symbolic form and poetic flow.

“Master Key” explores the age old concept that love may be the master key to unlocking the doors to the “inner self”.
